Karin Shepherd is the glue that keeps our little band of JusticeSeekers together. The plaque on her wall reads “Certified Professional Legal Secretary,” but that is only the tip of the iceberg. She really does hold the Firm together.
Karin came to work for Andy Vickery in February 2002. On her first day, we had to complete and file a brief in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. She pulled it off with equanimity and good humor, and has been doing pretty much the same ever since.
Karin is a native of Port Arthur, Texas. She has 33 years of legal experience, all with litigation firms. If we were to rank her many positive qualities, client relationships and client service would be at the top. That is very important because it reflects the priorities of our law firm.
I love our clients. I get to know the most personal details of their lives during their litigation and I consider myself part of their family. Not only do I understand their cause, I understand them.
Plus, I love coming to work. Being a JusticeSeeker is a 24/7 commitment I gladly make. We work very hard but we have fun while we work. When you=re provided a positive work environment, it makes all the difference in the world.
Besides being a JusticeSeeker, Karin is an exceptional cook and baker and she happily makes each JusticeSeeker their favorite dessert on their birthday. She also enjoys scrapbooking and riding with her boyfriend on their Harley Davidson motorcycles. She is an advocate for homeless animals and devotes her spare time to helping many four-legged friends find forever homes. Karin also supports many no-kill animal shelters and pet rescue groups. She lives in Pearland with her boyfriend and their four dogs and one cat.
